MEET THE TEACHER
Mrs. Shelby attended the University of Texas where she earned a Math Education degree. This is her 5th year at Our School Middle School and 10th year in education. She currently teaches Algebra I, Honors Algebra 1 and Math Interventions. Her favorite part of teaching is helping students gain confidence in their math skills.
Mrs. Shelby enjoys hiking, reading books, trying new recipes and hanging out with her dog Hank.

ABOUT THIS CLASS
Algebra 1 is a high school math course exploring how to use letters (called variables) and numbers with mathematical symbols to solve problems. Algebra 1 typically includes evaluating expressions, writing equations, graphing functions, solving quadratics, and understanding inequalities.
